Dear LCE Families,

So great to see so many of you at yesterday’s Halloween Haunt! There are so many thank-yous, I don’t even know where to begin. First, a giant thank-you to our LCE community for all of your support during the lead up to this year’s “Hauntfest”, as well as coming out to the actual event yesterday! In addition, thank you to all of the parents who came out to volunteer Friday during set-up, and Saturday throughout the day. Last but not least, thank you to our amazing Executive Board for stepping in and helping out throughout the months leading up to yesterday’s event, and all day yesterday!

I am so incredibly grateful to my amazing Haunt co-chair Leigh Smith, and all of our Haunt committee chairs for their hard work in planning this weekend’s fundraiser. It takes MONTHS of planning to pull this event off (planning starts in Spring!), and it takes everyone working together to pull it off successfully. I’d also like to thank Anna Kim, this year’s Silent Auction chair for her hard work on this year’s amazing auction. The Silent Auction is a huge undertaking, and is integral to the success of the Haunt’s fundraising efforts.

These chairs start preparing for Haunt in the Spring, and continue all the way through to the big day! Without their contributions, this event would not be as successful as it is. THANK YOU!

LCE’s Founders Day Award nominations will be accepted from November 1, 2022 through December 5, 2022.  This award is a wonderful way to recognize teachers, school staff members, parents, or other volunteers who have truly given extraordinarily to benefit LCE and its students. Each year, the LCE PTA has the opportunity to recognize and appreciate five people whose efforts and achievements prove themselves true advocates for our children. Their ongoing dedication and hard work seek no reward, which is the best reason of all to highlight them!

This year's Silent Auction was a huge success! We have items that still need to be picked up. Please head to the school office between 1-3pm on Monday and Tuesday to pick them up. The items with no bids will be going on firesale tomorrow (10/31) from 9am to 4pm. The prices of the remaining items will be heavily discounted. So don't forget to check it out! Thank you all for participating and making a difference.

Our 4th grade Dine Out this month is on Wednesday, November 2nd, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Panera in La Cañada. The address is 990 Town Center Suite A. We welcome and encourage all grades to participate!

Due to continuing issues with carline, we will be bringing back our Carline Volunteer Program!

Are you available to assist with drop off and pick up of students? We are looking for volunteers for both morning and afternoon.

2. 9:00am-9:25am
3. 1:40pm-2:10pm
4. 2:40pm-3:10pm

Volunteers should be able to help direct traffic and ensure that carline rules are being followed, greet students and parents, and help with the safe loading and unloading of students and their belongings.

Hi LCE Lions and parents!  LCHS Women in STEM will be hosting the Science Discovery Lab, a FREE science enrichment program, on November 15 from 3:30PM to 5:00 PM at the LCE cafeteria.  Come to participate in an exciting afternoon filled with fun hands-on STEM activities!  All grades are welcome.  Please register at tinyurl.com/LCESDLnov22 by November 13!

Our Book Fair is right around the corner! For this year, we are moving our Book Fair to the holiday season, in order for families to take advantage of our Book Fair to purchase some holiday gifts!
